2015 Peru GDP growth of 3.3%

According to Peru's National Bureau of statistics, 2015 the country's GDP growth rate of 3.3 percent, higher than the 2.4% in 2014, mainly due to the growth of the mining, electricity, fishery, banking and telecommunications, but the manufacturing industry, the oil and gas industry and the construction industry atrophy.

Peru's mining industry grew by 15.5% in 2015, but the manufacturing sector, represented by steel and metal refining, fell by 1.7%.

In driven by the substantial growth in Southern Copper, Chinalco and Hadebei mining companies of enterprise production, 2015 Peru copper production grew by 25.8%.

Due to the growth of production Hodges Child mining company (Hochschild mining) Ma Ying Kurada (inmaculada) silver, and Volkan (Volcan), Buenaventura (Buenaventura) and Antamina Antamina mines yield makes Peru 2015 silver output grew by 9%.

2015 gold production in Peru increased by 3.5%, mainly because of irregular mining output growth exceeded expectations.

Lead production increased by 14%, zinc production increased by 8%, molybdenum production increased by 18.4%, iron ore production increased by 1.8%, tin production decreased by 15.6%.

Precious metals and non-ferrous metal refining products fell 5.5%, mainly due to the decline in exports to Canada and the United Arab Emirates, as well as demand from the United States, Japan and Canada fell.

Steel products fell 4.5%.

Due to the December growth accelerated, the annual inflation rate exceeded 1-3% target, last week, Peru's central bank raised its benchmark interest rate for third consecutive months.

Taking into account the El Nino phenomenon may cause crop failures and infrastructure damage etc., in December last year, the Peruvian Ministry of finance will 2016 economic growth rate from the previous forecast of 4% down to 3.5 per cent.
