Brief Introduction and Application of Slag Rotary dryer:

Slag is commonly known as water slag which is fused silicate kind of waste after blast furnace smelting. Slag superfine powder particle size is smaller than cement, which is potential hydraulic gelation-properties; slag has several advantages in the cement process as following:
It can display the water hard gel performance under cement, lime and gypsum environment.
Slag Rotary dryer also can effectively improve the cement distribution structure.Increase the service life of the cement and concrete and various parameters.Decrease the production cost of cement and concreteTherefore, the slag is high quality materials of producing cement. By drying and grinding water slag superfine, it also can be used as the main raw material of production of slag powder.

Slag drying as cement traditional drying project, it has been used for a long period. The traditional dryer cannot make the materials in the dryer to form homogeneous material. The hot gas and materials are heat exchange inadequately; the heat energy use rate is about 40%. Low efficiency of heat supply and heat capacity cannot stable cause that high coal & electricity consumption and low efficient drying.

Structure and Advantages of Slag Rotary Dryer:

Material to be dried enters the dryer, and as the dryer rotates, the material is lifted up by a series of internal fins lining the inner wall of the dryer. When the material gets high enough to roll back off the fins, it falls back down to the bottom of the dryer, passing through the hot gas stream as it falls. This gas stream can either be moving toward the discharge end from the feed end (known as co-current flow), or toward the feed end from the discharge end (known as counter-current flow). The gas stream can be made up of a mixture of air and combustion gases from a burner, in which case the dryer is called a direct heated dryer. Alternatively, the gas stream may consist of air or another (sometimes inert) gas that is preheated. When the gas stream is preheated by some means where burner combustion gases do not enter the dryer, the dryer known as an indirect-heated type. Often, indirect heated dryers are used when product contamination is a concern. In some cases, a combination of direct-indirect heated rotary dryers are also available to improve the overall efficiency.

  • High efficient combination of lifting board (patent NO. ZL 98235910.1): according to the physical changes in the drying process, make the material to form homogeneous materials in the dryer, sufficient heat exchanged with hot gas, evaporation intensity of water per unit volume is 60~80 kg/m3, the evaporation capacity is higher 50~120% than the normal dryer.(the product drying one kilogram water will saving a quarter heat energy than traditional dryers).
  • Moveable self-aligning riding wheel device (Patent No. ZL 98235911.x): in general, the rollers and riding wheel are point contact, but moveable self-aligning riding wheel device can make the rollers and the riding wheel keep operating in the line contact. Furthermore, the installation and changes of temperature of dry don't affect operation of the roller and riding wheel. Finally, attrition and energy loss will be greatly reduce between the rollers, riding wheel and drive gear.
  • Zero level thrust drivers (Patent No. ZL 98235909.8): optimizing drive gear’s position, reduce the positive pressure and weight of the riding wheel in order to the horizontal thrust is zero while the dryer operation. This device can decline more than 30% drive power, and can short size of riding wheel.
  • Moveable sealing device (Patent No. ZL 200420018083.9) the device is comprised of many groups of a single graphite block and some stainless steel sheets. The device can increase temperature and wear resistant capacity, also solve dust leakage and air infiltration phenomenon which is caused by installation error and dryer deformation.
  • Distinguish-size device (Patent No. ZL 200520097173.6) when the product need distinguish two or three size level, the device can install in the dryer so that the materials can be dried and sized at the same time. This process can remove normal sizing device, air fan and dust collection device. The distinguish-size device simplifies the process and reduces pollution.
  • Wind-force sorting device (Patent No. ZL 200510019445.5) using the wind to finish the sorting and delivery after drying powder, it is greatly simplifying the process and reduces pollution.
  • Inertial-gravity dust collection device (Patent No. ZL 201320031191.9) through gravity, inertia and air power, the device can remove dust primarily in the back cover in order to reduce handing capacity of main dust collection. Our factory offer kinds of fuel furnace, such as gas furnace, oil furnace, coal furnace and fluidized bed furnace and so on. Furthermore, our factory had designed successfully new circumfluence-air process system for vertical drying grinding system.
